Vulnerable Children are at Risk
In Vietnam and other Asian nations, many children are suffering from a lack of health, education and basic emotional needs. A big factor is that many of them are in underserved rural settings. Governments don't have resources to help these children, and professional help is inadequate.
The Global Village Foundation believes in empowering children through education and health services
The Global Village foundation supports children at Village of Hope and Peace Village in central Vietnam, where poverty, education and health care remain a challenge.
As volunteers working through hands-on engagement at the grassroots level, we provide valuable educational and health resources.
Le Ly Hayslip founded the Global Village Foundation in 2008 in San Diego, CA
An author, humanitarian, and peace activist born in Vietnam during the Vietnam War, she experienced firsthand the devastating effects of war on her community. After immigrating to the United States, she wrote her memoir "When Heaven and Earth Changed Places," which recounts her experiences growing up in war-torn Vietnam.
The book was made into the movie "Heaven and Earth", in Director Oliver Stone's Vietnam trilogy,

BIKES and MOTORBIKES TO REACH THEIR JOBS
Every day more than half the children and young adults need bicycles and motorbikes to make the long trek to their job or school. These tools are affordable transportation and are life changing. Orphaned children often lack the means to get a bike and even with a job after high school may not be able to afford a motorbike.
